Thea Cooke

Thea Cooke is a proud Virgin Islander, passionate musician, dedicated educator, and advocate for music education. Her musical journey began at the age of 11 when she discovered her love for the bass guitar—an instrument that has remained at the heart of her identity as a musician.

At 18, Thea discovered another calling: teaching. Today, she works at Elmore Stoutt High School, where she combines her knowledge, experience, and love for music to inspire, mentor, and empower the next generation of musicians.

In 2021, Thea expanded her impact by founding The Bass Spot, a music school dedicated exclusively to bass guitar instruction. Through The Bass Spot, she creates opportunities for aspiring musicians to develop their technical skills, build confidence, express themselves creatively, and discover their own unique musical voices.

As both a performer and educator, Thea is passionate about changing the way people see the bass guitar. She believes the bass is more than simply a supporting instrument—it is a powerful and expressive voice that can shape the sound, feel, and identity of an entire musical performance.

Through her work in music, education, and mentorship, Thea continues to use her passion and experience to inspire others to pursue their talents, embrace their individuality, and believe in the possibilities that come from following their passions.
