Enya Douglas is a creative professional and educator from the British Virgin Islands. With a Master’s in Culture, Creativity, and Entrepreneurship, she works at the intersection of anthropology, history, and media. Her work blends research with creative direction, spanning education, workshops, and media production. She is committed to advancing cultural preservation and fostering spaces where creativity and community thrive.
Mr. Raul “Jougo” Sprauve, an Entrepreneur with a passion for music and the youths. He is the Chief Executive Officer and Engineer of Home Grown Studio where he has recorded numerous artists including Deanna Wattley and Gabrielle Hoyte, to name a few. He is also the owner of Homegrown System Rentals which provide sound systems for numerous events.
Born on the sister island of Virgin Gorda, the son of the late Theolinda and Darvin Sprauve. Mr. Sprauve grew up in Lower Estate, Tortola. His goal was a career in teaching. With his love for sports and a former junior national basketball player, Mr. Sprauve pursued his higher education in Sports Science and holds an Associate Degree from Reading College in England.
Prior to pursuing his studies in tertiary education , the former student of the Road Town Seventh Day Adventist School and the then BVI High School, now Elmore Stoutt High School, worked at the Training Division before taking up the post as a Teacher Trainee in the Ministry of Education and Culture.
Following his studies, Mr. Sprauve taught Physical Education at several schools across the Virgin Islands including the Althea Scatliffe, Jost van Dyke, Ivan Dawson, Isabella Morris and the Leonora Delville Primary Schools. He was awarded Teacher of the Year by the Leonora Delville Primary School.
Mr. Sprauve was an original member, songwriter and studio engineer of The Showtime Band. He was instrumental in the bands achievements of 7 time Road March titles. He is currently a lead singer of VIBE who has won 3 consecutive Road March championships.
Mr. Sprauve is a strong advocate for the youths and strives to be a role model with a positive influence on their lives.
He notes that as a young person in this Territory he was able to reach this far through the strength, advice and positive influence from members of the community and his wife Kenisha Sprauve, who has been the driving force behind him.
Mr. Sprauve has encouraged positive thinking to High School students through forums on the topics of Bullying, Self Esteem and Peer Pressure.
Acknowledging the influence of music, the young Virgin Islander said he strives to ensure the songs that the band sings are of lyrics that are appropriate for everyone . Mr. Sprauve launched a CD with an aim to making learning multiplication tables easy through local music and ensured that each school in the Territory received a copy.
Mr. Sprauve involvement and interest in the youth led him to serve as a member of the Social Development Department’s Big Brother, Big Sister Program and Youth Assessor for the Juvenile Court.
Rochelle Smith, Director, Virgin Islands Studies Institute, HLSCC
Rochelle Smith is a dynamic educator, cultural advocate, and academic leader with a distinguished record of teaching Humanities at both secondary and tertiary levels. She currently serves as Director of the Virgin Islands Studies Institute, where she leads initiatives that advance research, education, and public engagement focused on the history, culture, and contemporary issues of the Virgin Islands.

She has curated public programs that amplify Virgin Islands voices and foster global understanding of Caribbean culture. Her leadership extends beyond academia into cultural advocacy, where she works to bridge scholarship and community through innovative projects and storytelling.

Her creative work and public engagement aim to preserve heritage while inspiring new generations to explore and embrace their cultural identities. Known for her ability to connect people through stories, she continues to shape conversations around Virgin Islands stories, history, and cultural resilience.
Naudia Turnbull is a dynamic Marketing & Communications Specialist and multidisciplinary creative based in the British Virgin Islands, with over eight years of experience shaping compelling brand narratives at the intersection of marketing, animation, and cultural storytelling.
She is the co-founder of Misen Creative Group, a multimedia communications agency committed to bold ideas and boundary-pushing visuals. With her expertise, Misen has partnered with notable clients such as the National Parks Trust of the BVI and UniteBVI, creating campaigns and media that balance strategy with artistry.
With a B.A. in Arts (Communications: Film, Video & Media) from Western Michigan University, Naudia blends her academic foundation with hands-on expertise in animation, motion graphics, and digital storytelling. Her work consistently explores unorthodox creative fields and is guided by a personal mission to think outside the box and remain unlimited in her approach to communication.
