Mrs. Shaina M. Smith-Archer is a woman of purpose who believes that to whom much is given, much is required. She is an Engineer by education, a Project Manager by profession and a Patriot at heart. After her college graduation from UCF in 2002 with degrees in Electrical Engineering and Industrial Engineering, Shaina returned home excited and nervous about contributing to the development of her beloved homeland. She worked at the Ministry of Finance from April 2003 for eight (8) years until she left the public service to start her project management consultancy, Smith & Associates, Inc. with a leap of faith. Over the past nineteen years, Mrs. Smith-Archer has managed several government and private sector projects, including the JOMA Cedar Building, the new Peebles Hospital building, the Nurse Iris O’Neal Medical Centre, and the CAPS system. She recently obtained certification as a Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP). Shaina lives by the motto, “if you are not a part of the solution, you are a part of the problem” and has volunteered in various community service organisations. She was the President of the VI Civil Service Association and is currently the Chair of the Board of Directors at the BVI Chamber of Commerce and Hotel Association (BVICCHA) since 2019. Shaina is a member of the First District Community group, the Ministry of Education Scholarship Committee, the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honour Society, and the PMI Southern Caribbean Chapter. Shaina also believes in the power of an informed community and currently produces, and hosts two online programs called The Vigilate Dialogues and Territories Talk. Shaina is happily married to Mr. William A. Archer and enjoys sailing, family BBQs, and swimming at our beautiful Virgin Islands’ beaches. She stays grounded in the flurry of life by her Christian beliefs and worships at the New Life Baptist Church.
