    Janice George-Harris is a playwright, theater director, acting coach, artist, storyteller, literacy advocate, and an education administrator in the Virgin Islands (BVI). In 2005, she introduced the secondary school theatre arts programme in the Virgin Islands. Her plays, which include “Marah,” “The Unveiling of Sayretta,” “Healing Ashes,” and “A Time to Dance,” have been staged in Tortola, and in Antigua, Barbados, and Trinidad for the Caribbean Secondary Schools’ Drama Festival. George-Harris directed the Elmore Stoutt High School Drama Society for over 14 years. In 2019, she received the Hon. Delores Christopher Festival of the Arts award for her work in theatre. An excerpt from “Healing Ashes” has been published in the anthology Disaster Matters: Disasters Matter, edited by Yvonne Weekes and Wendy McMahon. Little Hill Stories is the first book by the Virgin Islander.
