- Eunice Bedminster, Journalist
Eunice Bedminster is the Executive Editor of The Virgin Islands Daily News and holds the distinction of being the first Black woman and third woman overall to hold the position in its 90-year history. She is an award-winning writer with The Daily News, having won the Associated Press Sports Editors’ First Place Award for Best Enterprise, the Associated Press Managing Editor’s First Place Award for Public Service a Second Place Award for Editorial Writing from the Society of Professional Journalists. Prior to The Daily News she served as Managing Editor of The St. Croix Avis, in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Ms. Bedminster, who hails from Dominica and grew up on the sister-island of St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, has also worked as a public relations professional, winning the Silver Award for Excellence in Public Health Education from the National Public Health Information Coalition. She has also served as a member of the Planning Committee on the Congressional Black Caucus Conference on Health Disparities and is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and the National Association of Black Journalists.
