Charmaine Wilkerson is originally from New York and has lived in Jamaica and Italy. She is the author of the New York Times-bestselling debut novel Black Cake, which has been translated into more than fifteen languages and is being adapted into a screen series for Hulu, with executive producers who include Oprah Winfrey. Charmaine’s award-winning short fiction can be found in various anthologies and magazines. A former journalist, Charmaine is a graduate of Barnard College and Stanford University. She is grateful to various creative writing residences for supporting her literary endeavours, including Bread Loaf in Sicily, Vermont Studio Center, and Hedgebrook.
